Description
Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) has become a preferred method for stabilizing the canine stifle after a cranial cruciate rupture. This course is designed for the veterinarian who wishes to learn/refine the TTA technique and to understand the major advantages of the XGEN “forkless” TTA system. This laboratory will thoroughly review the biomechanics of TTA, preoperative planning techniques, postoperative management/ rehabilitation and how best to prevent and treat postoperative complications. The TTA operative technique will be taught in a step-by-step fashion with the assistance of intraoperative videos, and practice on canine cadavers. Simultaneous correction of patella luxation will also be reviewed. This lab is only for veterinarians who already have a thorough knowledge of the relevant stifle anatomy, extensive stifle surgery experience, and prior training in bone plating techniques and principles.
*This program was reviewed and approved by the AAVSB RACE program for 8 hours of continuing education in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval. Please contact the AAVSB RACE program if you have any comments/concerns regarding this program's validity or relevancy to the veterinary profession.
